SBUnfurled and Friends Episode 10: Quarantined with SBU's Director of Basketball Operations

SBUnfurled and Friends is back in quarantine with Matt Pappano, who's the director of basketball operations for St. Bonaventure, to reflect on parts of last season, along with the future of the Bonnies. On this episode, we discuss a potentially exciting nonconference home game against Yale, along with how last year's Toronto game against Rutgers happened (1:36). We also talk about the Bonnies will (hopefully) go to the U.S. Virgin Islands in November for the Paradise Jam Tournament (9:13). We also ask Pappano about how the Bonnies would be affected if the Atlantic 10 follows other conferences and has a 20-game schedule (13:36). We also discuss Gannonfest and how everyone's favorite D1 vs. D2 game happened (18:02). Pappano also talks about how coach Schmidt's recruiting has changed over the years and some future impacts from proposed transfer rules (22:46). We also reflect on the awesome 100th anniversary celebration against Hofstra (30:26). There's also some jersey talk, including some news about old and new jerseys for SBU (35:06). We also talk about the future of the Canisius and Niagara rivalries, along with the Bonnies future in the new Atlantic 10-Mountain West Challenge (39:12). Finally, we think of some creative ways a team live St. Bonaventure can fill a nonconference schedule in today's college basketball landscape (46:50).
